Ian Ross – Owner/Founder/Lead Designer

For over 17 years, I have climbed rock and ice and shared my love of wild places with hundreds of students through my work with Outward Bound. Through my years guiding, teaching and exploring I have been slowly concocting a blueprint for a line of great packs and dreaming of the day when I would be able to take my ideas and create packs that I could share with the world. Over the years, I have gained sewing experience through a personal venture making messenger bags, sewing suspension components for prosthetics and working in the repair department for a major pack manufacturer. With this knowledge, I started making my dream a reality with my 1st prototype in the winter of 2015. After more prototyping and many rounds of feedback from rigorous field testing I finally have come up with designs I am proud to put my name on and Masterpoint Designs is the result.
